Empower Yourself with These Body Positivity Affirmations and Activities

In a world where people feel the need to have perfect lives and physiques on social media, it can be hard to remind yourself that these are unimportant things. The true value of your life is on the relationships you form, the trust you build, and the way you feel about yourself. No matter how many shares, likes, and comments you get on social media, that does not mean anything if you do not know how to love yourself. And yet, social media has so many pitfalls that we sometimes feel trapped and unable to escape.

Love yourself is a mantra that celebrities, influencers, and other famous personalities speak so well of on social media. Loving yourself, however, does not have to come from your idols. You don’t know their struggles. They don’t know yours. Loving yourself starts from within. You need to believe in yourself, in the relationships you nurture, and the affirmation that you’re okay… no matter how you look and how much you weigh on the scale.

It is hard to love yourself unconditionally because you keep on comparing yourself to what you see in others. Why don’t you have that smooth skin? Why are you not as physically fit? Can you travel the world like these social media influencers do? What are they doing right, and what are you doing wrong? There is nothing wrong with you or how you live your life unless you’re abusive of your body and health. You need to learn how to value yourself and the choices you make.

Body Positivity Activities

Make it a point to do body positivity activities. Affirm to yourself that you’re doing fine. You’re okay. You shouldn’t feel ashamed that you don’t look like Kendall Jenner or that you’re not as popular as Selena Gomez. People go through so many things in life that you owe it to yourself to do activities that will put you in the right frame of mind.

Pamper Yourself

Do you know how impactful a pampering session is? You need to start taking better care of yourself. Sure, you don’t have to be obsessed with the way you look, but you can make an effort to look and feel better. Use products for teeth whitening to remove your teeth stain and make you feel confident about smiling. Invest in a good shampoo and conditioner for your dry and frizzy hair. Slather your skin with lotion and cream.

Do everything that will make you feel better and do it regularly. Pampering yourself doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s all up to you and your budget.

Listen to Empowering Songs

Whether it’s Born This Way by Lady Gaga, Unpretty by TLC, or Scars to Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara, these self-love songs can give your confidence a much-needed boost. Blast them in the morning when you’re preparing for work. You can also listen to them in the commute to work. They will put you in the right frame of mind.

Say Nice Things to Yourself

The things you tell yourself have a much greater impact than what others say about you. You need to train yourself to say nice things. There are a lot of body positivity affirmation quotes on the internet. List these down and say them to yourself in the morning when you wake up or while you’re putting on makeup. It sounds so simple, but so many people don’t do these enough that they end up doubting themselves.

Wear the Right Clothes

Wear clothes that will make you feel great about your body. Make sure that your clothes fit correctly and that they don’t make you feel conscious. If you keep on trying clothes that do not complement your style and body, you will never feel confident about wearing them. Find clothes that are neither too big nor too small.

Try Something New with Your Appearance

Why don’t you experiment with your appearance? Do you want to dye your hair a different color? Do it. If there’s a new makeup trend that you want to try, go ahead and give it a go. As long as you feel comfortable with the experiment, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t try it.

Far too many times, people are hard on themselves. They reprimand themselves when they go over the weight goal. They exhaust themselves and abuse their bodies. This is not the way to empower your thinking. Self-love is a ritual you follow daily. It takes an effort to love yourself exactly for how you look, but you’ll have a better chance of having a body-positive outlook if you do it every day.
