I will study Photography at School of Fine Arts, SCAD, Altanta

Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Dillard:

We are here to witness the creation and abet it. We are here to notice each thing so each thing gets noticed. Together we notice not only each mountain shadow and each stone on the beach but, especially, we notice the beautiful faces and complex natures of each other. We are here to bring to consciousness the beauty and power that are around us and to praise the people who are here with us. We witness our generation and our times. We watch the weather. Otherwise, creation would be playing to an empty house.

According to the second law of thermodynamics, things fall apart. Structures disintegrate. Buckminster Fuller hinted at a reason we are here: By creating things, by thinking up new combinations, we counteract this flow of entropy. We make new structures, new wholeness, so the universe comes out even. A shepherd on a hilltop who looks at a mess of stars and thinks, ‘There’s a hunter, a plow, a fish,’ is making mental connections that have as much real force in the universe as the very fires in those stars themselves.

I chose to do photography for the freedom I felt it’s giving me. Freedom and possession at the same time. Freedom, because I could feel myself exploiting my creativeness, feelings, ideas, as never before. Possession, because of the adequate love I was feeling towards those moments in life when we do feel we really exist; for what it was more in life, for that something we tend to oversee, for all this I choose to do photography. For all that more is out there and waits to be felt, discovered, loved.

In January 2013, I was accepted at Savannah College of Art and Design, School of Fine Arts’ graduate program in Photography with a Fellowship worth of $24,000. Back in October 2012, I was pulling out of my forces to overcome and challenge myself and I’ve applied to SCAD’s Photography master program. Today, I feel so happy to be able to share this amazing news with all of you. Starting this September you can find me studying photography in Atlanta, USA. This signifies a huge accomplish for me, not only because I’m coming from Europe, but mainly because I started this blog very shy, I kept it part-time, but I dedicated all my time to it, and I put at its base an amazing passion for photography. I never knew I have so much strength inside me to overcome all the obstacles that graciously laid in front of me, but I feel proud to have achieved such opportunity.

My ethical sensitivity pushed me to gather around me just a few of people that will not manipulate, will not be selfish, will not betray and will understand the sane principles in life. Many doors have been shut in front of me. Many times I though I’m alone on this road I decided to go on. But, sometimes hope raised and showed me there are still few people as good as one’s word. They are so few, but their help, their involvement weights as the help of entire humanity. And I needed the support of these people in order to be able to begin to experiment other worlds. And thus, my journey to accomplish a high dream started.

In this journey, I have found out that hope never must be lost, that always there is someone ready to help, but you have to search it carefully. Many can promise their help but never do it. But only those with heart-full of desire to help, those still good at heart, will do anything it takes to help you. I want to thank to a handful of special people for being always there for me. True people that always supported me with words, advises, their experiences, their good will – by facts or simply wonderful words. I would never been here without the support of these people. Words and encouragements can equal to a chance to change for life. Thank you Bogdan, Oana, Ioana, Irina, Tijana, Nitin, Loreta, Liliana, Bernie, Kiarna, Ana, Ionut, and to many others that I might have forgot to mention here. I can not thank enough to all of you, who have motivated me in the past months to overcome the financial issues related to this master and make sure I’m fulfilling my dream. Nothing is more important for me than to stay true to myself and carry on proudly my dream with dedication for photography.
