The Anatomy of Exotic Fruits – Pomegranate, Prickly Pear and Fig

This week I bought few beautiful, colorful props from my favorite shop in Brno. I really wanted to have some session of photo-shooting, but I didn’t really knew exactly what I will gonna photograph about.

Yesterday while I was shopping at the fruit department I knew almost immediately what I’m gonna to shoot : the exotic fruits. And like that, I was shooting for two days these amazing exotic fruits and finally the week-end was crowned with a fresh and cool smoothie that I called “Gorgeous”. Aren’t they gorgeous? 🙂

Ingredients for “Gorgeous” Smoothie ( 0,5 l) :

1 big pomegranate
2 small common figs
1 big prickly pear
2 tablespoons of cristal sugar
1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice
300 ml water

Directions :

1. Wash the fruits. Cut the pomegranate on half and put out all the arils (seeds), you will use them to prepare the smoothie. Cut the fig on half and spoon out all the fig’s flesh. Cut the edges of the prickly pear. Then section the skin on half and then shuck, as here.

2. Put all fruits in a food processor or blender and mix until purée. Filter this mixture, to eliminate all the broken seeds. Then add the sugar, the lemon juice and water and mix well. Let the smoothie cool in the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving.
