The Anatomy of Exotic Fruits – Avocado

As promised the series of photography with fruits and vegetable is continuing. Today we have for dinner this amazing avocado salad. Avocado is full in vitamins and has a very rich flavor, therefore, you will be very quick satisfied with this salad.

When buying avocado, be careful and don’t choose the most soft one, this means that is ripen (just if you plan to cook it in the same day). To stop the fruit ripening, preserve the avocados in the fridge, otherwise buy just the firm avocado.

Ingredients for avocado salad (makes 2 servings) :

2 small avocados
100 g cheddar cheese
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
2 tablespoons of white vinegar
2 teaspoons of fresh chopped dill
2 teaspoons of fresh chopped chive
salt and pepper

Directions :
1. Wash the avocado. Cut the avocado in half, slightly twist the two halves, separate, and remove the seed. Starting at the small end, remove the skin with a knife. Cut the flesh in small cubs, being careful not to break the fruit too much.

2. Cut the cheddar in small cubs, then put it together with the avocado cubs, in a bowl. Season it with salt and pepper, then mix the the lemon juice with the vinegar. Pour it over the salad and mix carefully. Finally sprinkle the chive and dill finely chopped.
